Generated Text Assignment

For this generated text assignment I used the "charNG" generator. For my initial seed text I used Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven." After experimenting with the text generator using this seed text, I was disappointed to find that the results tended to closely resemble the initial text. I then searched for what I felt was a strongly contrasting style of text to add to "The Raven" in the generator's seed text box. From the Project Gutenberg website I chose an article titled "A Very Remarkable Comet" by an Edward E. Barnard that was contained in Publication No. 4 (dated September 28, 1889) of the Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. This combination resulted in generated text that was much more interesting.

I'm not sure if I feel I am fully the author of this work since I did not compose the text used as seed text for the generator. On the other hand, I did provide creative input with regards to manipulating the generator's various parameters, adding additional seed text to get more interesting results, and repeatedly generating text until I got a result that resonated with me in some way (whether it was amusing or simply interesting). In this sense, I do feel I am partly an author of the resulting work.
